Care and support roles are very rewarding and sometimes challenging requiring us to bring our best possible relationship and communication skills into practice. Sometimes at the end of the day we can find ourselves asking “Could I have done/or said something more helpful?”
This 2.5 day training is designed to support the essential and pivotable skills of creating trust and alliance with clients and patients. You will learn the practical specifics and an internal “map” of why we and others say what we say and do, and why what we say next is going to either create trust with our clients or another layer of protection and guardedness.
This training draws from the internationally renowned principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and from Toni’s 14 years of experience facilitating communication workshops, providing mediation, counselling and communication trainings for couples, families and other groups with differing perspectives and interests, including FDR (Family Dispute Resolution).
This training will support you to…
- Establish connections and trust with clients, patients, and colleagues.
- Navigate “tricky and sticky” conversations.
- Turn a potential relational rupture into an opportunity for deeper trust and alliance.
- Learn skills to identify the deeper underlying “issues” or causes of frustration, anger or sadness.
- Learn the language to support reconnection when trust has been compromised.
