Winner of the 2025 Gradiva Award, Outsider. Freud offers a fresh and evocative portrait of Freud — not simply as the founder of psychoanalysis, but as an outsider: a Jewish migrant in Vienna whose experiences of identity, exile and cultural marginality shaped his life and work.
Through surreal animation, recently discovered archival footage, and interviews with scholars and psychotherapists from around the world, the film brings Freud and his world vividly to life.
